The final Lyons Last Thursdays / Arts Stroll is coming up on Thursday, September 29th - rain or shine. Starting around 4:30 at various locations around town - costumed characters will be distributing FREE Walk the Walk passport cards and maps of the evening's offerings all along & adjacent to the wonderful new sidewalk that beautifully spans the distance between Lyons Fork and Lyons Quilting.
Visitors and locals alike will bring their Walk the Walk passport cards to participating stores, restaurants & other businesses where designated blank squares will be marked with that business' unique sticker, punch or stamp by an employee. Once passports are completely filled in, Walk the Walk walkers will bring them to designated passport turn-in spots where, in exchange, walkers will be given a $10 voucher - a limit of two per family.
Organizers are planning special sidewalk art opportunities to enjoy along the way. In addition, participating businesses are planning such things as a drumming circle, a CDB oils info stand, a house concert by District of Columbia recording artist / LGBTQ activist, Heather Mae on her "I Am Enough" tour, a Lyons Flag creation station, Walk the Walk cocktail concoctions, free quilt patterns / flash sheets, special exhibits / art shows / demonstrations, Lyons souvenir items, and lots more in the planning!
The more the merrier! If any artists, business owners, musicians, entrepreneurs, street performers, or such have questions &/or interest in participating in this event, please email details to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday noon, September 23rd.
Everyone plan now to attend this fun and final summertime Lyons Last Thursdays / Arts Stroll happening with friends and family. Note that a special Arts Stroll (with vouchers for local holiday shopping) is planned for Saturday, December 3rd, the same day as the Lyons Holiday Parade of Lights.
